Noah White Named Manager of Farmers Market, Garden
A longtime fixture at South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation, Noah White has been named manager of the South Boston Farmers Market and the new West Second Street Community Garden.
The Suffolk University junior who is studying pre-law started with SBNDC through the Youth Ambassadors Program more than five years ago. In 2015, Executive Director Donna Brown asked Noah if he wanted to work for SBNDC during the school year, “And I never left,” he said.
Noah, a lifelong South Boston resident, is excited about his new roles. “It’s really good,” said the 20-year-old. “It’s a lot that I want to do.” He likes that he has the opportunity to meet people who are from Southie and get to know what they’d like to see with the Farmers Market and the Community Garden.
As part of his duties, the Cathedral High School graduate oversees the Youth Ambassadors working the summer program, guiding them on taking care of the approximately 25 flower beds on Broadway and the gardens at the D Street Fire Department, and setting up the Farmers Market every Monday.
