SBNDC intern Grace Levin wins Harvard award

Grace Levin, an intern with South Boston NDC, was named Harvard Graduate Student Employee of the Year! Nominated by Executive Director Donna Brown, Grace was honored at a dinner hosted by the Harvard Student Employment Office Thursday evening.

Nominees were judged on quality of work, initiative, disposition, reliability, and the overall contribution they've made to the employer.

Grace, who will be graduating from the Harvard Graduate School of Design this May with a Master’s in Urban Planning, assisted South Boston NDC with pre-development tasks, community meeting preparation, the HUD Environmental Notification Form, preliminary site feasibility analysis, and the Article 80 Small Project Review application for our McDevitt Senior Homes project.

Grace was South Boston NDC’s intern last summer and is continuing in this role through graduation. She came into the internship interested in being a general planner “… but after this experience, I would love to continue working on affordable housing projects,” she said.

“Grace was invaluable in doing research, writing narratives, and creating documents for South Boston NDC's applications for the development of affordable elderly housing at McDevitt Senior Homes,” Donna said. “Grace's hard work played a big role in South Boston NDC being awarded more than $5 million from the City of Boston for the project.”

Congratulations, Grace!
