Wave Collective joins forces with South Boston Chamber to elevate StoopFest

When Brooke Patterson and Christina Valle of Wave Collective heard about South Boston StoopFest, they knew they had to help.

As South Boston NDC event planner Jenni McNeill was mentioning the new event during a South Boston Chamber of Commerce networking session, “I feel like Christina and I, our eyes lit up, and we were like, ‘Oh my gosh, so much fun. How can we help?’ We're all so passionate about Boston and local ties and really just wanting to grow anywhere that we can,” said Brooke.

Wave Collective, a boutique full-service agency specializing in public relations, social media, and creative & influencer marketing, has been in South Boston at King Terminal since 2022 and feel it’s important to support the community they call home, said Christina.

The group will provide its services pro bono, amplifying the event's reach and impact. With no budget for South Boston StoopFest, Jenni is thrilled about this partnership. “The amount of generosity I have seen regarding StoopFest in this community is amazing,” she said. “Wave offering their services is invaluable to the success of the first StoopFest. Their creative ability is exciting to see come to life.”

StoopFest is a brand-new, free music event presented by the South Boston Chamber of Commerce and South Boston NDC. It is designed to unite the community while boosting local businesses. Taking place on May 31 starting at 1 p.m., this family-friendly, walkable festival will showcase live music performances at multiple venues throughout the west side of South Boston.

StoopFest has “the energy that we absolutely love and can appreciate and get behind,” Brooke said.

Wave Collective, previously called R Public Relations and owned by Robbin Mangano, rebranded in 2020 to better reflect its comprehensive approach to marketing, public relations, and social media. Now led by partners Brooke, 29 (social media), Christina, 34 (public relations and influencer marketing), and Reagan Byrne, 36 (creative), Wave Collective -- named for its proximity to the water and the fact that it’s run by a team -- continues to champion local businesses and events. Robbin has since moved on to other opportunities.

For StoopFest, the Wave team will support the event with social media consulting and brainstorming, press release distribution and media advisories, and influencer marketing.

Wave currently works with The Charles Hotel, Time Out Market Boston, and the Prudential Center, to name just a few. “But a lot of our clients are small businesses here in the Boston area,” said Christina.

The Wave team is excited to be able to expand the voices of smaller businesses. “It’s been rewarding to work with them,” she said.

Wave is also part of the city of Boston’s Technical Assistance program, “which allows us to work with smaller, local companies that might not have the funding for services,” said Brooke. “So, working with local companies and businesses within the community is definitely something that we have been passionate about.”

The trio is very excited to be partnering with South Boston StoopFest. “The three of us are very passionate about the city of Boston and growing the different pockets and raising awareness in those different pockets,” Brooke said. “So really being able to show light and promote that from a media standpoint, we are really excited to do.”
