Boston Resiliency Fund awards Southie nonprofits

The South Boston Association of Non Profits (SBANP) was awarded $74,560 from the Boston Resiliency Fund this week, providing critical support to sustain and expand food access programs in the neighborhood.

SBANP applied to the Fund on behalf of multiple local nonprofits providing emergency food access to South Boston residents during the pandemic, including the South Boston Neighborhood House, St. Monica’s Food Pantry, Gavin Foundation, Fourth Presbyterian Church, Julie’s Family Learning Program, South Boston Action Center, Paraclete, Edgerley Family South Boston Boys & Girls Club, and South Boston Neighborhood Aid Network (which South Boston NDC is coordinating).

The funding provides financial support for four weeks of continued operations and steadily increasing demand. This is the first award to South Boston neighborhood organizations since the Fund began awarding grants in mid-March.

Thank you to the Boston Resiliency Fund Steering Committee for this grant, our elected officials for advocating for our programs, and to SBANP’s Anna White for composing a compelling application!
