The BPDA is hosting a public meeting on the proposed 207 E Street Project in the South Boston neighborhood of Boston. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the overall project and its potential impacts. The meeting will include a presentation followed by questions and comments from the public.

Susan Devlin recipient of Thomas J. Butler award
Susan Devlin, a community supporter and small business owner, is this year’s recipient of the Thomas J. Butler South Boston Small Business Leadership Award.
The ceremony for the award, which is in honor and memory of our great friend and South Boston business supporter Tommy Butler, will take place Saturday at 11:15 a.m. on the Library Stage at the South Boston Street Fest.

SBNDC receives Love Your Block grant!
South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation has received a City of Boston Love Your Block Mini-Grant from the Make Boston Shine Trust for a cleanup/planting day on West Broadway.
“We are thrilled to get this funding from the city to help us beautify the West Broadway business district and promote health and climate benefits by helping the street trees survive,” said Donna Brown, executive director of South Boston NDC.

Financial Literacy Workshop Targets Small Business Owners, Young Professionals
South Boston NDC is hosting a Financial Literacy Workshop with Cambridge Savings Bank at Publico on Wednesday, July 27 at 6 p.m. for small business owners and young professionals. Join us to hear about budgeting and saving while noshing on delicious Publico appetizers.

Michelle Zenga went into South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation 25 years ago (then known as South Boston Community Housing) to apply for an apartment.
“I didn’t get the apartment, but I got a job,” she said. “I had a good rapport with the property manager and she hired me as secretary.”
